Last week was my fifth year Deviantart anniversary, and by extension, my fifth year putting-my-shitty-art-on-the-internet anniversary. So to celebrate, heres an evolution chart of one of my oldest and most known characters, Chu!

1999 is an estimate of when I first drew Chu. He was originally created as a poorly drawn Pikachu, then much later on became more of a homage/parody of Pikachu.
One of the best decisons I've ever made artwise was deciding to make Chu more than just a Pikachu homage. The character has evolved so far from those roots that he's gained his own identity and personality. It's not much of an identity, but for all intents and purposes, it counts .

Chu will be back and ready for more shenanigans when Matchu debuts this September. Look foward to it!

I love it! Have you really been drawing Chu since 99? That's TWELVE years now! WOW!
